Bloodstock South Africa held their Shongweni Mixed Sale on Wednesday and it was very pleasing to see the very wet conditions didnt deter a full house of buyers from attending.

The sale opened with the broodmares and saw Lot 2, the beautifully-bred and performed Felix The Cat sold to Welcome Home Farming for R200 000. The mare, consigned by Bush Hill Stud as Agent, is in foal to international Group winning son of Galileo, Flying The Flag. She was sold with a Tropical Empire foal at foot.

Felix The Cat, a truly beautiful broodmare is a daughter of Black Minnaloushe out of Subyan Dreams by Spectrum – a half-sister to Mljet, and herself placing second in the Gr1 Golden Slipper and Thekweni Stakes.
