EXCITING SIRES REPRESENTED IN BUSH HILL’S KZN SALE DRAFT
Warwick and Karin Render’s Bush Hill Stud will be offering a large draft of 16 (one as agent) at Thursday and Friday’s KZN Yearling Sale at the Sibaya Entertainment World.
The Bush Hill draft includes yearlings by such popular and promising stallions as Capetown Noir, Crusade, Flower Alley, Jackson, Ideal World, Soft Falling Rain, and the farm’s deceased, but successful, resident sire Toreador.
The latter, whose progeny include Equus Champion Link Man and 2018 Vodacom Durban July contender Matador Man, is the sire of Blow Me Down (Lot 28), a colt out of a winning Var ½ sister to King’s Cup winner Pirate’s Gold.
Another successful local stallion represented in this draft is Ideal World. The latter is represented in the Bush Hill Stud draft by an unnamed colt (Lot 176) who is closely inbred to the great mare Miesque, and whose dam is a sister in blood to short lived G1 performer Mister Cricket.
Triple G1 winner Jackson has made a smart start with his first two-year-olds this season and the son of Dynasty is represented in the Bush Hill Stud draft by two yearlings. Someone To Love (Lot 22) is a colt out of a half-sister to five time stakes winner The Seals, while Blanket Of Snow (Lot 34) is a half-sister to five winners (including G1 contender Purest Bliss) and is out of five time stakes winner Snow Angel.
Equus Champion Capetown Noir, whose first crop are yearlings, has one in the draft –a filly (Lot 83) whose dam is a half-sister to champion Warning Zone (dam of Australian G3 winner Pittsburgh Flyer), while the Crusade filly Muleta (Lot 206) is a half-sister to four winners including East Cape Nursery runner up Jella Loochee and useful winner Bockscar.
Other lots of interest in the Bush Hill draft include a Seventh Rock filly (Lot 134) who is bred on the same cross as champion Seventh Plain, and a Master Of My Fate filly (Lot 209) whose dam is a winning daughter of the outstanding stallion Dubawi.
Just As Well, sire of the likes of Chili Con Carne and Just Cruised In, is represented in the draft by a colt (Lot 100) out of a daughter of six time stakes winner Soldier’s Dream, while Equus Champion Soft Falling Rain’s single yearling in this draft is a filly (Lot 162) out of a ¾ sister to multiple stakes winning filly Salutation.
Noble Gift (Lot 233) is a daughter of proven G1 sire Judpot from the family of the great, breedshaping stallion Pivotal, while Bush Hill’s Dingaans winner Curved Ball has a filly on sale (Lot 215) from the family of the Bush Hill Stud bred G1 winners Stellite and Zirconeum.
Bush Hill Stud’s sires Redoute’s Promise and Irish Flame are also both represented in the draft. The former has a colt (Lot 218) from the same family as champions Diesis and Kris, while former Horse Of The Year Irish Flame’s two daughters on sale include a filly (Lot 240) closely related to Summer Cup winner Liege, and a filly (Lot 264), whose half-brother won his only outing, out of a half-sister to Bush Hill Stud bred Emerald Cup winner The Mouseketeer.
