Noble Tune’s 3yo grey gelding looks an exciting prospect – out of 8-time winning Black Type grey mare Thunderous Belinda, he has had one win and three places from four starts – two of those places were seconds, and on the weekend he ran third in the Listed KZN Guineas Trial.

Trained by Paul Lafferty, he is owned in a partnership of Messrs Marius Mostert, P Georgiou, D J Ramsay, S Singleton, G Tselentis, Mr & Mrs D J Steyn, P M Racing (Nom: Mr P J Maujean) & K & K Syndicate. The handsome grey born and raised at Rathmor Stud with winner Play Another Tune – who placed fourth in the Gr1 Premiers Champions Stakes during the season.

Two other prospects include I’m Free from the stable of Wayne Badenhorst. The Noble Tune filly placed a sharp 3rd on race debut over 1000m and will definitely be needing further, being out of a Silvano mare.

Trainer Gareth Van Zyl is having success with the Noble Tunes producing two winners recently – the first is Paths Of Victory, out of a mare specifically purchased for Noble Tune. He won by almost four lengths over 2000m, this is the family of Oracle News, Victory Moon and American winner Mahubo. The other is Noble Joshua, out of a Joshua Dancer mare. Another Noble Tune that has enjoyed the longer trip, he won by almost two lengths over 1800m.
