The Betting World 1900 at Greyville on will be run 22 May, over 1900m for a stake of R300 000.
Two KZN-breds have been entered, Bay Route and Buy And Sell.
Bay Route, by Silvino out of Forest Route by Nissr, placed second by a nose to Jet Legend in the King’s Cup Grade 3 in March. He is a six-time winner to date and placed 11 times, including a place in the Grade 3 Christmas Handicap. He is a half-sister to Florist Gump, a three-time winner and Grade 3 placed.
The other is Buy And Sell, by National Emblem out of Equus Champion Broodmare in 2009, Trade Enquiry (by Qui Danzing) – herself a 9-time winner. He is an 8-time winner and has won over R2,300 000 in stakes. Now a nine-year old, his wins include the Champions Cup Gr.1 and Daily News 2200 Gr.1. He is a half-brother to good filly Bedloe’s Island and Woolavington 2200 Grade 1 winner, Count The Money, as well as six-time winner What’s Going On.
Tales Of Bravery is a son of Kahal, owned by the late Roy Eckstein. He recently won the Drill Hall Stakes Grade 2 and a nine-time winner to date. He shares a dam-line with Rathmor Stud’s champion Gypsy’s Warning – his dam is a half-sister to Gypsy Queen. She is a full-sister to Royal Prophecy and Noble Destiny and of course Gypsy Queen’s other Grade 2 winning daughter, Surabi. Interestingly Pierre Jourdan appears in the descendants of the fourth dam Apsara. Rathmor’s Gypsy Queen is in foal to Kahal this year.
