The first foal by Gr1 winning son of Dubawi, Willow Magic, has arrived at Summerhill Stud. Certainly stamped by his impressive chestnut sire, Willow Magic is the only Gr1 winning son of Dubawi at stud in the Southern Hemisphere.

Trained by Sean Tarry, the Australian import looked an absolute picture when seen recently at Summerhill Stud. The imposing chestnut stallion is out of La Willow by Tierce.

Willow Magic was trained by Sean Tarry and had four career wins including the Gr2 Dingaans. Amongst his 10 places was a close second to Legislate in the Gr1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge, second to Captain Of All in the Gr1 Gold Medallion over 1200m and third in the Gr2 Post Merchants to Daring Dave.

Dubawi is the sire of 30 Gr1 winners to date and the fastest to ever sire 50 Group winners then any other stallion at this stage of his career. With 16% Stakes winners and 10% Group winners, the son of Dubai Millenium is hailed as one of the world’s greatest stallions. Amongst his list of Group winners is the former Mike De Kock-trained, Mubtaahij.

Willow Magic‘s dam won three times at age 2, over 1000m – 1200m and is a half-sister to 10-time winner Time Speed. Her own sire, Australian-bred Tierce won the Gr1 Golden Slipper amongst his 11 victories. This is the female line of Par Avion, Air She Goes and Victory Roll.

Willow Magic stands for R20 000 in his first season at stud.
