Clifton Stud, whose past alumni include the likes of July winning champion Classic Flag and Charity  Mile winner Bezanova, will be offering a quality draft at the 2020 Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale.

The farm will be offering two-year-olds sired by all of Act Of War, Admiral Kitten, Capetown Noir, Duke Of Marmalade, Flying The Flag, Ideal World, Jackson, Noble Tune, Twice Over, Var and Vercingetorix.

The perennially popular Var, whose current flag bearers include such Equus Champions as Anything Goes and Vardy, is the sire of Undercover Lover (Lot 99), a colt out of a four time winning daughter of multiple champion sire Hussonet, while Cartier Champion Duke Of Marmalade’s sole offering here is Harold The Duke (Lot 129) -a colt whose dam is a winning own sister to the top-class filly Cover Look.

Twice To Heaven (Lot 8) is a Twice Over filly whose dam is a daughter of G1 Woolavington 2200 runner up Arabian Pearl, while Maria’s World (Lot 379) shares her sire Ideal World with multiple G1 winning champion filly Smart Call, and she is out of a half-sister to the smart, stakes placed filly Starring Emma.

Equus champion Vercingetorix has made a blistering start to his stud career, and the son of Silvano is represented here by Gaudis Masterpiece (Lot 279), a half-brother to a pair of winners, and this colt’s granddam is none other than G1 Cape Fillies Guineas heroine Igreja.

Cape Guineas winner Act Of War is another exciting young locally bred stallion represented in Clifton’s National 2YO Sale draft. His son Tom’s Act (Lot 275) is a half-brother to five winners, including the stakes placed Dante’s Legacy, with this colt’s dam a half-sister to G1 Cape Flying Championship winner O Caesour.

Galileo horse Flying The Flag has two colts in this draft -including Rare Flag (Lot 72), a colt who  hails from the same family as such international standouts as Dr Devious, Pierro and this year’s Irish Oaks winner Even So, while Breeders’ Cup runner Noble Tune’s two lots on offer include Snow Tune (Lot 385), a half-sister to KZN Yearling Sale Million runner up Dandolo.

Other attractive lots in this draft include Admiral Birnham (Lot 191), a colt from the first local crop of G1 Secretariat Stakes winner Admiral Kitten from the family of legendary racemare and producer Fanfreluche, Wreath Of Roses (Lot 289), a Jackson filly bred on similar lines to Horse Of The Year Legislate, and the unnamed colt (211) by Equus Champion and triple G1 winner Capetown Noir. The latter is out of a winning Galileo own sister to Irish G3 winner Eye Of The Storm and half-sister to G3 Sirenia Stakes hero Satchem.
