Filippo, a son of speed on speed champs Toreador out of the Var mare Wishful Eye (who defeated Val De Ra in her race career) flew home to take the feature at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday – the African Holly Non Black Type handicap.

The Piemonte Stud-bred gelding trained by Yogas Govender won under Lyle Hewitson, and defeated amongst the field Gr1 Allan Robertson winner, Vernichey.

Owned by Messrs P Rambaras, Y Naidoo, Mr J and Mrs N Deokynarain, Filippo is now a 5-time winner who has previously placed in the Listed Umgeni Handicap.

There is also Aldo out of the mare, the five-time winning son of Redoute’s Promise.

Piemonte Stud have had 12 wins this season with 61 places.

Congratulations to the Scribantes and all concerned.
