Under Your Spell Creates Magic!
Capetown Noir filly Under Your Spell maintained her unbeaten record to take the Gr3 Protea Stakes under a star ride from Lyle Hewitson, for the stable of Sean Tarry and owners Sean Tarry Racing (Pty) Ltd and Mrs BMA Lahoud and Messrs M A Currie, C N Francis, A Lahoud, Jarryd Lahoud, Allan F Peters, Larry Pogir and Craig Zoghby.
Capetown Noir is enjoying a green patch, having produced two Stakes Winners in two days – the other catching his 6th consecutive win on Friday in PE named Jaeger Moon, to capture the East Coast Guineas Listed.
Mick Goss of Summerhill Stud said this morning that they have produced nine Stakes Winners this season. Mick continues to breed on a small scale with his mares based at Spring Valley Farm under the care of Bruce Le Roux.
Out of Deceptive Charm, Under Your Spell is a half-sister to multiple Stakes Winner Witchcraft and Black Type In Cahoots. This is the female line of sire Casey Tibbs.
Other runners to feature over the weekend was Rathmor-bred Mystery Boy (Noble Tune). He has been a challenge for trainer Gareth Van Zyl who is very good with the progeny of Noble Tune, and Mystery Boy is renowned to be difficult – but it seems the touch of horse behaviourist Mike Shaw has pulled the gelding right and the half-brother to Gr1 winner Lady In Black and Gr2 winner Nexus, showed his talent when winning on Sunday at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Congratulations to all concerned.
