The Ready To Run gallops for the Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale will be taking place on Friday 11 October at Summerhill Stud, kicking off at 11 am. Bloodstock South Africa announced a world-class catalogue for the 2013 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Sale. The sale is set to take place at the TBA’s Germiston complex on November 1st and 3rd, where some 248 exquisitely bred horses are up for sale.

The first session, which kicks off at 16:00, will see lots 1-110 go under the hammer. The second day of trading, which starts at 14:00, will see 111-248 be knocked down.

All horses sold at this sale will automatically qualify for the rich and prestigious Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup of 2014 where graduates of the sale will race for R3 million. Buyers remember to tick the box!

Ready To Run graduates have built up a tremendous record over the years, as a look back at past sales’ stars will indicate. From the likes of Horse Of The Year, Igugu and champion, Pierre Jourdan, to this season’s promising 3 year olds Dover Beach, Winter Star and Admiral’s Eye, the Ready To Run Sale annually produces its share of high-class performers.

Other notables to have graduated from the Ready To Run Sale include last season’s Oaks winner Dylan’s Promise, Gr1 SA Derby runner up Gothic, Gold Bowl hero Winning Leap, and star international miler Imbongi – to mention just a few of the top-class athletes bought off the sale.

Last year’s sale has also produced its share of smart winners, including the classy Duly Ordained (AUS), eye catching debut winners Pej and Yeoville, potential Guineas horse Solar Star, Grade One horse Umgiyo (AUS), and the progressive colt Mount Hillaby.

This year, many of the country’s top farms will offer lots at the Ready To Run Sale and the overall quality of the catalogue shows how this sale has grown in status and class and rates up there with the best sales in the land. The list of stallions with progeny on sale includes South Africa’s very best sires, such as Captain Al, Dynasty, Fort Wood (USA), Jet Master, Kahal (GB), Silvano (GER), Trippi (USA) and Var (USA) all have attractive individuals due to pass under the hammer.

There are also offspring by the late, great Western Winter (USA) on sale – and these individuals are bound to prove popular.

Promising sires Antonius Pius (USA), Argonaut, Jay Peg, Judpot (USA), Kildonan, Rebel King and Sail From Seattle (CAN), to name but a few, are also strongly represented at the 2013 Emperors Palace Ready to Run Sale.

Sires with their first 2 year olds selling include Brave Tin Soldier (USA), Elusive Fort, Fort Beluga, Ideal World (USA), Lateral (GB), Mambo In Seattle (USA), Oracy (NZ) and Seventh Rock (AUS).

The Ready to Run Sale also offers South African buyers a rare opportunity to acquire well bred thoroughbreds with top-class international pedigrees. Some of the world’s leading sires have prized lots on offer. World-class sires represented on the sale include Bernardini (USA), Danehill Dancer (IRE), Encosta De Lago (AUS), Hussonet (USA), Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE), Tale Of The Cat (USA) and Teofilo (IRE).

The pre-sale gallops will take place on the following dates:

9th October Turffontein 1pm

11th October Summerhill Stud 11am (Summerhill, Far End, Ambleway, Mauritzfontein, Maine Chance)

18th October Yellow Star Stud 10:30am (Balmoral and Connington)

A DVD containing the various gallops will also be made available prior to the sale. The gallops will be shown on the loop on Tellytrack and will also be available online.
