Strongman, an as of yet unbeaten son of Stronghold who stood at Summerhill Stud prior to his untimely passing, took home the Sophomore Sprint Listed over 1200m at Kenilworth in slightly soft going by almost four lengths from De Kock (Dynasty), Exelero (Western Winter) and Kimberly Al (Captain Al).

Bred by Northfields Bloodstock, the aptly named Strongman is trained by Glen Puller and owned by Messrs C F Bester, F M Carruthers, P Fourie, Ken Martin & Ian Robinson.

Having won all his starts at Kenilworth over distances of 1000m – 1200m, Strongman is out of Casey Tibbs mare Sweet Virginia. He had his first start in May and won it by half a length, going to win again by almost two a month later.

Stronghold stood at Summerhill Stud for just two seasons and has already produced Gr 3 placed Negev (Summerhill Stud), Dalalaat (Shadwell Stud) and multiple Group placed Patriotic Rebel (Kinmount Stud).
