King’s Chapel standing at Bush Hill Stud, has proven himself overseas with winners weekly in various countries such as New Zealand, Australia, Macau, Singapore and Hong Kong. King’s Chapel has had several Group winning and performing horses – including Gr 2 winner King’s Ransom, Gr 3 and 12-time winning King Montrose and Singapore Group performer, Boundless Glory.

King’s Chapel has his first crop of yearlings on offer at the upcoming Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale – which include a half-brother to Gr2 Emerald Cup winner Meadow Magic and 10-time (including Umngeni Listed) winner Tetelestai.

Boundless Glory in Singapore.

A magnificent liver chestnut that exudes strength and substance, he is a speedy son of King Of Kings (standing at Clifton Stud) – out of Lower Chapel by Sharpo.

Breeders have reported exceptional specimens being produced by King’s Chapel and he has been enthusiastically supported by breeders. Crowned New Zealand’s Horse Of The Year, King’s Chapel was also crowned Champion Three Year old and Champion Sprinter/Miler.

Warwick Render of Bush Hill Stud provides some insight: “A winner of three Gr 1 races over 1200m, 1400m and 1600m breaking the course records on all three occasions he won ten times in all. He was the second highest rated horse in the whole of Australasia after going down a short head to champion Grand Armee in the Gr 1 George Main Stakes in Australia over 1600m.

“He enjoyed fantastic support in his first season at stud here and the quality of his first South African foals born ensured this support continued into the 2012 season with him, again covering another very good book of mares. Suffice to say I believe every stud which had one of his foals born on it booked mares back to him.

Gr3 winner King Montrose

“His best horses this past season have been King Montrose who recorded his eleventh win including the CJC Stewards Stakes, when competing in two Gr1 races and a Gr3 in the space of eight days.

He has also epitomised the versatility of King’ Chapel’s progeny having won over distances ranging from 1000m up to 2000m. Boundless Glory is a nine-time Group performer and winner in Singapore.”

“Simply the facts are he is a champion racehorse with an abundance of speed. A successful sire of international winners and stakes winners backed by a pedigree far better suited to the South African Broodmare band than it was to the New Zealand equivalent. King’s Chapel has had mares from every commercial stud in KZN and his future looks bright indeed.”

King Montrose continues his winning streak, taking home his 12th win in a Sprint Handicap over 1200m in New Zealand recently. Chapel Star also got her sixth win in March over 1600m.
