QUALITY AND QUANTITY TO BE FOUND IN PIEMONTE’S KZN DRAFT

Summerveld farm, Piemonte Stud, will be offering a large, quality packed draft of yearlings at the 2019 KZN Yearling Sale.
The Piemonte draft will offer buyers the chance to acquire lots by such popular and promising stallions as Act Of War, Capetown Noir, Crusade, Global View, Ideal World, Judpot, Master Of My Fate, Soft Falling Rain, Toreador and Wylie Hall.

Red hot sire Master Of My Fate has a choicely bred colt in the form of Camora (Lot 274) on offer. This colt is a half-brother to 3 winners notably G3 Champion Juvenile Cup winner O Tamara, and is bred on similar lines to the Jet Master sired stakes winners Love Is In The Air, Careful Landing and Jet Jamboree.

The Dynasty sired Cape Guineas winner Act Of War is represented here by a colt (Lot 11) whose 3 time winning dam is a half-sister to Kwazulu-Natal Stakes winner Running Wild, while promising young Redoute’s Choice stallion Wylie Hall is responsible for a filly (Lot 128) who is a half-sister to 4 smart winners and whose third dam won the inaugral G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile!

Deceased Danehill sire Toreador, whose progeny include the likes of Bull Valley, Link Man and Misty Birnam, has four lots in the Piemonte draft. They include Calvino (Lot 18), a colt out of a stakes winning daughter of Var, Demari (Lot 157) a colt whose dam is a dual winning half-sister to stakes winner The Cardinal, and Capriana (Lot 285). The latter, a half-sister to 3 winners, hails from the immediate family of G1 Blue Diamond Stakes winner Undoubtedly.

Equus Champions Capetown Noir and Soft Falling Rain both have a single lot in this draft, with triple G1 winner Capetown Noir responsible for a filly (Lot 155) out of a winning Silvano half-sister to G3 performer Placido. Short-lived SA Nursery winner Soft Falling Rain, who made a sparkling start with his first 2yos this season, is represented by a colt (Lot 165) whose dam is a full-sister to recent East Cape Derby winner St Vladimir and this is the family of none other than Capetown Noir himself!

Galileo’s son Flying The Flag (a full-brother to two G1 winners) is represented here by Cecca (Lot 239) with this filly produced by a winning half-sister to the five time winning dam of high-class sprinter Dutch Philip, while consistently successful sire Ideal World (whose progeny include high-class KZN sale graduates Inverroche and champion Hermoso Mundo) is the sire of Carlino (Lot 224) –a colt from the family of G1 winning siblings Solo Traveller and Redberry Lane.

Other classy prospects in Piemonte’s KZN Sale draft include the Global View filly (Lot 25) from the family of G1 winners On Her Toes, Follow The Falcon and Savannah Queen, the Noble Tune half-brother (Lot 51) to the classy Lee’s Pick, and the Crusade filly (Lot 63) from the same family as none other than the remarkable Arc de Triomphe winner and star producer Urban Sea.
