Recently relocated trainer Kom Naidoo, who has moved his string from Summerveld to Ashburton, leads the current KZN Jockey and Trainers Log for this week.

The competition is hotting up and the winners will be announced on the KZN Breeders Race Day at Greyville on 30 June, the week before the running of the Vodacom Durban July. Its a day exclusively dedicated to the connections and breeders of KZN-bred racehorses, registered with the KZN Breeders Premium Scheme.

Jockey Lyle Hewitson continues his hold over the Jockey Challenge, with 40 points ahead of Serino Moodley with 30 points. In form Luke Ferraris lies in third place, with 24 points on the log and on a par with Keagen De Melo.

Kom Naidoo produced the first winner for sire Noble Tune with Awesomely Tuned for the K&K Syndicate amongst his KZN-breds in his yard. He has also had success with Spring Valley-bred Roy’s Taxi, the Fort Beluga half-brother to London Call. He also has the consistent full sister to Gr3 winner Royal Pleasure, Missibaba, Roy’s Marciano and Burfi – and trained Run Rhino Run to his incredible 21 length victory at Greyville.

Kom has produced 24 winners this season, and his horses have earned over R2,2-million in stakes.
