Backworth-bred Top Of The Chocs, by Miesque’s Approval(USA) – Candy Box by Exclusive Patriot(USA) and a half-brother to fellow Backworth-bred speedster Chocolicious, opened up his 2013 account with a confident win under apprentice Donovan Dillon over 1200m at Greyville Sunday.
The 4 year-old bay gelding is by Breeders’ Cup winner Miesque’s Approval out of the Exclusive Patriot mare, Candy Box. The bay mare recorded 4 wins in her career including the Grade 3 Strelitzia Stakes and the Listed Juvenile Stakes. She placed four times including a 3rd in the Grade 1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship.
This win takes Top Of The Chocs’ career record to 2 wins and 7 places from 17 starts. Congratulations to trainers Herman Brown Jnr and Frank Robinson as well as to owners Messrs HJ Brown, P Ebbs, MG Frost, MA Robinson and Ms L Kapustina.
