Sir Isaac Takes Flamingo Park Handicap

Bush Hill-bred Sir Isaac registered his third win yesterday in the Flamingo Park Handicap (Non-Black Type) over 1800, winning by half a length from Blushing Grey (Dupont), Deckie Boy (Kahal) and Desert Breeze (Right Approach). The five year old gelding is owned by Mr Reynier Gerber and trained by Tienie Prinsloo.

Sir Isaac has found good recent form, winning two of his starts and placing second in the last five starts since February this year over distances of 1600 – 1800m.

Sir Isaac has placed 11 times for three wins in total. By former Bush Hill resident sire Newton (by Danehill), Sir Isaac is out of Celestial Dawn by by Divine King.

Another recent Bush Hill-bred winner at Flamingo Park by two lengths was Black Platinum, a half-brother to Gr 1 winners Zirconeum and Stellite. The son of Miesque’s Approval out of Sweet Sheila has now had two wins and placed 14 times for trainer Cliffie Miller and owner Leno Pillay.

This family is strongly represented in the Bush Hill Stud National Yearling sales draft of 2014 – firslty with Lot 78 named Kalani, a Kahal filly out of Gr3 placed Stella Mia – Sweet Sheila being the third dam in the pedigree.

The other is Lot 516, a Trippi colt out of Plutonium is out of Sweet Sheila. Plutonium is the dam of King Neptune – winner of the Michaelmas Handicap Listed, as well as the Gr 3 placed Stella Mia – mentioned above.

Sweet Sheila(AUS) – by Kenmare out of Paklani – has left behind a considerable legacy at Bush Hill Stud, producing two Gr 1 winners from her six foals and six winners – accumulating 21 wins between them at the highest level.
