Rathmor and KZN-bred South African and American Gr1 winning Gypsy’s Warning, has had her first produce race in Ireland, a dark bay filly named Know(USA) by Street Cry.

The two year old filly is inbred to Machiavellian through Coup de Folie, the dam of Mogok, in turn the sire of Gypsy’s Warning.

Flaxman Holdings, breeders of Mogok, purchased Gypsy’s Warning at the end of her American racing career in the USA, where she sold at the Keeneland November sale for $1,05million consigned by Team Valor.

Know finished fourth on debut in a courageous race, after being blocked in behind and having to be held and switched out twice to come from last on the inside and finish a flying fourth on the outside (left hand side in picture) over 1200m at Navan, in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden for two year olds.

Owned by Flaxman Stables Ireland, Know is trained by D Wachman and ridden by WM Lordan.

Another Rathmor-bred Gr2 winning daughter of Gypsy Queen, Surabi (by Wolfhound), stands at Maine Chance Farms and has produced her first winner – two-time winning Fort Wood colt Sundari, who has placed eight times.

Surabi’s half-sister Gypsy Madonna, by Fort Wood, retired in 2014 to Varsfontein Stud after winning twice and placing in the Winter Oaks Listed.

Gypsy’s Warning’s half-sister by Silvano, named Judy Silvano [pictured left], sold to Philip Kahan for R500 000 at the recent National Yearling Sale.

Gypsy’s Warning has foaled a Tapit filly last month and has been covered by Quality Road.
