The top priced colt from KZN on the third and final day of the National Yearling Sale came from Clifton Stud when a beautiful Crusade colt sold for R350 000, whilst the top-priced filly of the final day came from Piemonte Stud for R200 000 as Lot 410.
Clifton Stud, breeders of one this season’s top fillies in Covered In Snow, will be represented by nine yearlings at the 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale next month. Giant’s Causeway, the sire of Scott Bros’ sire Eightfold Path and the now deceased Await The Dawn from Summerhill Stud, produced the sales topper at Keeneland last night when Take Charge Brandi sold for $6 million. Eightfold Path and Await The Dawn will have their first crop of yearlings on offer in 2016.
