Monday proved to be a good day for #kznbreds at Turffontein, with Bush Hill Stud, Clifton, Graystone and Scott Bros all coming home successfully taking four of the nine races carded on the day.

Clifton Stud’s beautifully bred Querari filly Que Ceu Azul, out of November Sky who is closely related to Gr1 winners August Rush and Tempting Fate, looks to be progressive and won at the third time of asking for Joey Soma and owners Mrs Sandy Wilson and MGAS Bloodstock. Interestingly, Scott Bros feature in the pedigree of the third dams on both sides of the pedigree – with Des Scott owning Querari’s third dam as well as third dam on the female side, Devon Air.

This filly impressed to win by two lengths over a mile.

The next was ever consistent Flashy Apache, bred by Scott Bros by their own bred globetrotting Group winning sire now standing at Hadlow Stud. Trained by Tyrone Zackey and owned by the Backos family, it is the four year old geldings third career win.

Hardly a day goes by without a Willow Magic in the places and this time Bush Hill Stud bred Bally Magic, appropriately named out of Irish import Ballyboro, won for trainer Candice Dawson and owner Mr Larry Nestadt.

It is the four year old geldings second career win. Willow Magic has settled in beautifully at his new home of Blue Sky Thoroughbreds.

One of the most successful owner breeder and trainer combinations in St John Gray, saw his Bezrin gelding out of a Miesque’s Approval mare win for the third time after placing consistently throughout his career. He was ridden by Ryan Munger who enjoyed three victories on the day, two of them aboard #kznbreds.

Congratulations to all concerned on a successful day!
