Gran Blanco of Rathmor Stud Weaned

Gran Blanco of Rathmor Stud Weaned

Rathmor’s white colt Gran Blanco has been weaned from his dam Perakeen, at just over 6 months of age.

Mike McHardy tells us more: “Gran Blanco was weaned on the 19/03/2012 he has taken it very well and settled immediately, he seems to have become very independent and is full of confidence. I hope this carries through into his racing career. I see he is developing black dots all over his chest!”

His dam Perakeen is back in foal, this time to Miesque’s Approval.

Gran Blanco’s sire Kahal continues to remain in the Top 5 on National Sires Log, and has the biggest representation of 31 yearlings at the upcoming National Yearling Sales.

Kahal has sired Grade 1 winning horses such as Bold Ellinore, Art Of War, Desert Links and Tales Of Bravery – the latter whose dam is Emperor’s Warning, is a half-sister to Rathmor’s KZN Breeder Award winning Broodmare-Of-The-Year, Gypsy Queen, dam of American Grade 1 winner Gypsy’s Warning.

Gypsy Queen is in foal to Kahal this year, and has a big, well balanced and good looking bay Fort Wood filly at foot who is due to be weaned shortly. The filly is a full-sister to Gypsy Madonna who sold for R1 350 000 at the 2011 National Yearling Sale and she is currently in training with Mike Bass.
