Blue Sky Thoroughbreds of Mooi River enjoyed a brilliant day at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, not only getting a double bred by the partnership of Tinus Gericke and Bruce Le Roux, but also achieving a training feat of winning with a horse bred, raised and trained on the property.

Ivan Van Wyk heads up the training aspect of the farm and has two runners currently, and was very excited to be back in the winners box.

The Eightfold Path filly also carries a complete Blue Sky pedigree – by a sire who stood on the farm out of Well In Flight by Just As Well, the beautifully named Shona Kirsty Yves won at the fourth time of asking over 1200m.

The double came from Get In The Q, trained by Mark Dixon who has trained the Silver Fantasy family to significant success, with the Querari filly thundering home to win the seventh race for owners Messrs C N Larsson, G N Cumming, C Gordon & H F T Lin. Silver Fantasy is the dam of four winners including Black Type Silent Crusade.

Blue Sky Thoroughbreds has a winners to runners percentage of 33.3% for the new season and have a lovely draft on offer at this weeks November 2YO Sale, taking place at the TBA Complex on Sunday 27 November.
