Michael Holmes Bloodstock Shongweni Sale 2012 Horses-In-Training – Results

The Michael Holmes Bloodstock Shongweni Horses-In-Training sale took place at Shongweni on 23 February.

The top-seller was a Summerhill-bred horse called Khetha, who is by Kahal out of Choice by Lustra. He has had six starts, winning one and placing in four others, one of which was a fourth, 2.25 lengths behind the talented Divine Jet.

Khetha sold for R155 000 to Alesh Naidoo. His dam has produced 7 runners and 7 winners to date, and the dam-line includes Rusty Pelican, Princely Heir, Right Royal Rage, Royal Glitter, Outcome and Crimson Palace.

The top selling filly was Grammatica, by Caesour out of Visionary by Best By Test. She has had 14 fourteen starts, 1 win and placed 7 times. She sold for R65 000 to L.F. Scribbante. Her dam has produced 8 runners and 8 winners, and this family includes the likes of Fanciful and her daughter Cover Look.

96 Lots were sold for an average price of just under R25 000.
