National 2 Year Old Sale Day Results

KZN’s top seller on the third day of the National Two Year Old sale was a filly by Mogok out of Winter Ade, sold by Scott Brothers for R260 000. Her name is First Winter, and she was sold to CJ Brooks. She is also the most expensive 2 year old from KZN sold on the sale.

Mogok - Scott Bros The top priced horse of the third day’s session and overall on the sale was a filly by Dynasty, called Queen Of The Sky. She was sold to Alec Laird from Bosworth Farm Stud for R350 000.

487 two year olds were catalogued, the same number as last year. Of that total, 361 were sold, 81 not sold, with 45 withdrawn. The aggregate was down on the previous year, a total of R21 240 000, with an average price of R58 837. The top-priced horse was R350 000 compared to R1 000 000 last year, however these results are not surprising considering the economic situation at the moment and it certainly is a buyer’s market.

Whilst Victory Moon was the leading sire by aggregate, Mogok standing at Scott Brothers, was leading sire representing KZN, with 13 Lots available, his aggregate was R1 055 000, with an average price sold for R87 917.
