Smart Clifton Debut Win for Vercingetorix Filly

Clifton-bred Mrs Geriatrix came with a pedigree and the Vercingetorix filly sold to the Magical Lady Syndicate, nominee Natalie Turner of the Racing Association, for R200 000 at April’s National Yearling Sale.

A plain chestnut filly – a feature that runs in the family with a strong likeness to her dam’s star siblings Prince Of Kahal and Fort Vogue and holds her in good stead for the future, won on race debut for the stable of Sean Tarry at the Vaal Classic this week. Mrs Geriatrix won by half a length over the 800m dash for juveniles under Calvin Habib, and in the process took home the BSA Bonus of R100 000 for her winning connections.

This is also the family of Clifton bred Whatalady, and reaches back to champions Highland Night, sire Warm White Night, Tristful, Night Watch and Prince Asad.

One to watch for the future!
