Roski Stud will be represented by six exceptional yearlings at next week’s Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale.

The Roski draft includes yearlings by such prominent and popular stallions as Gimmethegreenlight, Oratorio and What A Winter.

South Africa’s Leading Second Crop Sire What A Winter, whose progeny include the likes of Dutch Philip, Magical Wonderland and highly rated two-year-old Fabian, is the sire of Winter Chill (Lot 74).

This colt is out of a stakes placed daughter of top class broodmare sire Caesour and is from the same family as champion sprinters Enchantress, Harry’s Charm and National Currency.

Another champion sprinter represented in the Roski draft is Captain Of All. The triple G1 winning son of champion sire Captain Al is the sire of Indy Go (Lot 158). This well bred colt is out of G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas winner Go Indigo, a half-sister to stakes winning 2yo Tar Heel, who earned over R800 000 in stakes money.

Red-hot sire Gimmethegreenlight, whose current 3yos include the likes of Green Top and Surcharge, is responsible for Captain Tatters (Lot 188). This colt is a half-brother to smart recent two-year-old winner Drunken Sailor and is out of high-class G3 performer Lady Tatty. This is the same family as French Oaks winner Dunette and Gold Cup hero Desert Links.

European champion Oratorio (recently represented by his 50th stakes winner) has three lots in the Roski draft.

His son, Horoscope Harry (Lot 225), is a half-brother to Cape Nursery third Zodiac Jack and he is out of ten time stakes winner Pisces Star. This is the same family as G1 winners Gluwein and Zeeno.

Oratorio is also sire of Silent Tune (Lot 273), a filly out of Kahal’s G1 Thekwini Stakes second Silent Call, and Persuade Me (Lot 297). The latter, a half-sister to a useful winner, is out of Jallad’s G2 The Debutante winner Tempted and her second dam is a stakes winning daughter of champion sire Southern Halo.

The 2018 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale will take place at the TBA complex in Germiston from April 24th to April 26th, and the online catalogue can be viewed live at www.bsa.co.za
