Rathmor Stud At The KZN Yearling Sale

The KZN Yearling Sale will take place on 5 & 6 July at Sibaya Casino once more, and amongst our quality draft is the last produce from our exceptional broodmare, Gypsy Queen.

We are also standing Linngari and the French-bred son of Indian Ridge produced 11 winners last month world wide.

The twice Gr1 winning globetrotting chestnut stallion with a lifetime winners to runners percentage of 58%, is also the sire of Garlingari (multiple winner include two Gr2 & Gr3 each) and Mr Pommeroy amongst others.

Look out for the Linngari’s in our KZN Yearling Sales draft.

Rathmor Stud’s well performed, and blue blooded, young stallion Noble Tune is well represented in the farm’s 2018 KZN Yearling Sale draft.
The son of outstanding stallion Unbridled’s Song is the sire of 12 of Rathmor’s KZN Sale lots. Runner up in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, Noble Tune has made a pleasing start with his first 2yos this season including Golden Horseshoe nominee Play Another Tune and Strelitzia Stakes contender Awesomely Tuned.

Rathmor’s 12 lots by Noble Tune include a half-sister (Lot 13) to Christmas Handicap second King Jace, a filly (Lot 45) whose dam is a half-sister to G2 winner Royal Champ, a filly (Lot 88) out of G1 Thekwini Stakes third Admirals Eye, a colt (Lot 101) out of a winning half-sister to G1 winner The Hangman and top sprinter-miler Trip To Heaven and a filly (Lot 241) whose 3 time winning dam is from the same family as Cape Derby hero Comareen.

Itunesyou (Lot 108) is a Noble Tune colt from the family of recent G1 Tsogo Sun Sprint winner Bold Respect, while another eye catching yearling by the Unbridled’s Song son is Fall Out Boy (Lot 202) a colt whose relatives include champion Hot Ticket and Met hero Hill Fifty Four.

However, the potential star in this draft is Gypsy Rose (Lot 184), a filly with enormous value –both as a racehorse and as a future broodmare. This Noble Tune daughter is a half-sister to no fewer than six winners, most notably G1 Matriarch Stakes winner Gypsy’s Warning. The latter, a G1 winner in both South Africa and the USA, recently made headlines when her Animal Kingdom sired daughter Snakeless made a winning debut.

Gypsy Rose, whose dam is an own-sister to two SA Oaks winners, is also a half-sister to the graded stakes winners Romany Prince (G3 London News Stakes) and Surabi (G2 Camellia Stakes). This is also the family of promising 3yo filly Twice As Smart, runner up in the G3 Umzimkhulu Stakes earlier in the season and millionaire Tales Of Bravery.

Other interesting lots in this impressive draft includes the Visionaire filly Bright Outlook (Lot 255) –a half-sister to classy 2yo Carnage, and out of a ½ sister to exported G1 winning sprinter August Rush, a Linngari filly (Lot 48) whose dam is a winning half-sister to G2 winning millionaire Trophy Wife, and the Linngari colt (Lot 58) whose dam is an own sister to US G1 winner Crimson Palace.

The KZN Yearling Sale takes place at the Sibaya Entertainment World on July 5th and 6th. It is not a sale to miss!
