Sunday saw Bloodstock South Africa host their annual Ready To Run Sale held at the TBA complex in Germiston. The sale saw the average increase from last year, with 94 horses sold for an average of R237 021 each, from 125 catalogued.

The leading horses sold from KZN were both bred and consigned by Balmoral Stud.

The KZN-bred colt is a lovely big unnamed chestnut, out of a Jallad mare Chorus Line. Sold to HB Odendaal for R370 000 as Lot 26, he is a half-brother to three winners including four-time winner Pacific Line. Consigned by Balmoral Stud, the colt’s third dam is New Zealand’s top filly of her year, Gr1 winning Noble Heights.

Kahal continues to fly the flag nationally, as he tops the National Sires Log by Stakes earned by almost R2-million ahead of the second horse.

Top-priced KZN-bred filly was sold for R220 000 as Lot 67 to L. Kelp. The Balmoral-bred Brave Tin Soldier filly out of Argentine mare Logetta (by Fitzcarraldo) is the dam of five winners, including Logontonews.

This is the damline of several Argentine Bold Black Types, including the likes of Spaceship who stood at stud for the Scott Bros. The mare Logetta, won the Gr2 SA Oaks amongst her four wins.

Congratulations to the breeders, vendors and buyers.
