St Helier-bred Madigan Voted Zimbabwe’s Joint Horse-Of-The-Year

Madigan, bred by Mr & Mrs Syd and Shirley Rosseau at St Helier Stud, took home joint Horse Of The Year Award together with Earl Of Surrey. The awards took place in Zimbabwe at the Mashonaland Turf Club.

Madigan won the Zimbabwean Triple Crown this year, winning all three Grade 3 races including the Guineas, Bloodstock South Africa Stakes and FBC Derby. He is trained by Kirk Swanson and owned by Mr J Koumides, who took home the Champion Owner award.

Another KZN link is the Champion Two Year Old filly Final Fling, out of a Northern Guest mare. She has won both of her starts, the last by 3.5 lengths.

Madigan, by Joshua Dancer out of Western Glow by West Man and is a R90 000 graduate from the 2010 Emperors Palace National Two Year Old Sale. His dam-line includes the likes of Grade 1 winning and producing sire Gallic League(IRE).
