Trained by Sean Tarry, E-Jet was ridden by Anton Marcus and has now achieved four wins and eight places from 14 starts. E-Jet is by KZN-bred champion sire Jet Master out of Esmaltina(ARG) by Equalize(USA) and descends from the dam-line of sire Elusive Fort, Empress Club, Escolita Fitz, Emerald Beauty and Eventuail. At Clairwood on Sunday Roy Moodley’s Royalsecuritybaby(AUS) took home the Gr 3 Strelitzia Stakes for year old fillies over 1100m, carrying 56kgs. The talented Princess Julietta (by King Of Kings and bred by Linington & Sons) ran second by a nose carrying 58kgs, while Cayenne (by Lion Tamer and bred by Yellow Star Stud) finished third, and Ravishing Gem (by Ravishing – bred by RC Muir Thoroughbreds) finished fourth, three lengths off the leaders.

Toreador, who recently arrived at Bush Hill Stud from the Cape, has settled very nicely into his new home in the Midlands. The most successful son of Danehill to stand in South Africa, he had three of his progeny place in three Stakes races over the weekend – at Turffontein, Clairwood and Fairview.

Another Idea ran second in the East Cape Nursery Listed at Fairview over 1200m, from Seattle Storm by a quarter of a length in slightly soft going from a ninth draw. Brasillia, bred by the Tawny Syndicate and trained by Sean Tarry, placed in the Godolphin Barb Stakes Gr 3 over the weekend at Clairwood, ridden by Sean Cormack. Another daughter of Toreador trained by Sean Tarry, She’s A Stunner ran second in the Gr 3 Sycamore Sprint at Turffontein from Kinematic Countess in very soft going.

Toreador has produced the likes of Link Man, Las Ramblas, Jackadore, Straight Forward and Deliver The Power and we look forward to his influence in the future for KZN Breeding. He stands alongside the very good-looking Gr 1 winner Irish Flame, one of South Africa’s leading sires – Kahal, King’s Chapel and Curved Ball at Bush Hill Stud.

A big congratulations once more to all the connections of these talented horses!
