Glitter Star Trounces Favourites In MR93 Handicap

Image: L Houdalakis Backworth-bred Glitter Star, by Muhtafal (USA) out of Celestial Charm by Freedom Land (USA), continued his run of good form for trainer Lucky Houdalakis Tuesday at the Vaal winning a MR 93 Handicap convincingly from the Geoff Woodruff-trained favourite Approachable (Right Approach (GB)).

Glitter Star’s last run on 29 July took Anton Marcus to his 200th victory of the season, assisting in his challenge on the 2012 South African Jockey Championship.

Congratulations to trainer Lucky Houdalakis and owner Mr ME Leaf.

Celestial Charm recorded 2 wins and 3 places in her racing career from 10 starts including a 3rd in the Zimbabwe Oaks Gr3. She is a half sister to Roland’s Song ARCSA Champion 2-year-old filly, Horse of the Year, Champion 3-year-old Filly and Champion Older female. She recorded 14 wins including the Administrators Champion Futurity Gr1, Administrators Classic Gr1, Daily News 2000 Gr1, Administrators Champion Stakes Gr1 (twice), Gosforth Park Juvenile Fillies Futurity Stakes Gr2, Post Natal Golden Slipper Gr2, Computaform Champion Stakes Gr2 (3 times), John Skeaping Trophy Gr2 and the Gosforth Park Fillies Stakes Gr3.

Glitter Star is a graduate from the Backworth draft of the 2010 KZN Yearling Sale.
