The Emperors Palace National Two Year Old sale kicks off tomorrow at 13:00, with Lot 1 – 200 going through on the first day.

85 Of the horses offered on sale are KZN-bred, including a half-sister to Gr 3 winner Flash Drive and Gr 2 winner Silver Age.

Lot 128 from Barton Hall Stud is a black colt by Mogok out of a Val De Bois mare Apple Valley. The mare has produced two runners and two winners to date. This is the damline of Jessamine – dam of sire The Sheik, Al Nitak and Shoe Express, as well as the family of Top Seller and Red Flyer.

Bush Hill Stud have Lot 44 named Major Snippets, a Brave Tin Soldier colt out of Snippety Snip (by Jallad out of a Snippets mare). The mare is a 3-time winner has produced a two-time winner by Solskjaer named Denozzo. This is the damline of Australian Gr 3 Blue Diamond Prelude winner Western Ace, as well as the second top rated 2yo filly in Ireland, Princess Bonita.

Also from Bush Hill is Lot 195, a big black colt by Fort Beluga out of Rambo Dancer/Badger Land mare Done Roamin’. The Fort Beluga’s have been stand-outs and with only one crop available, they certainly should be snapped up. The mare is a winner and this is her first produce. This is the family of Naan Khataay, Blue Voyager and Gun Drift, to name but a few.

Clifton Stud have an A.P. Answer half-sister to Gr 3 Cape Of Goodhope Nursery winner Flash Drive. A second produce from the Captain Al mare, this is an interesting mating in that Flash Drive by Jay Peg is by Camden Park – himself by A.P. Indy out of a Danzig mare – the same as A.P. Answer. The filly is named Mermaid’s Answer, and this is the immediate family of Gr 2 Post Merchants winner Splash Gold and sire Golden Gallant.

Scott Bros, who famously sold The Apache at this sale a few years back for R80 000, have Lot 93 named Sounds Surreal who is from the immediate family of The Apache. A very Scott Bros’ pedigree, the dam Western Echo (by Mogok out of a Dolpour mare) is a two-time winner. The damline includes third dam Bold West who produced Sugar Magnolia. Lot 122, Wanton Child from Scott Bros is a filly by Miesque’s Approval out of Angel Child by Mogok. This is the damline of Pocket Power and River Jetez, as well as Harry’s Echo.

Spring Valley Stud have Lot 19, a lovely chestnut filly named Call Me Maybe by Fort Beluga, a half-sister to Gr 2 Umkhomazi winner Silver Age (also a Gr 3 winner). The mare Russian Belle by Krusenstern, has produced four winners with 10 wins between them. A very good dam-line, this includes family of Thunder Creek, Winona and Hawaiian Wahoo.

Yellow Star Stud have amongst their draft Lot 149, an Elusive Fort half-sister to Coy Boy, who recently ran a close third in the KZN Breeders Million Mile at Clairwood. Out of mare Blushed (a half-sister to On The Roof – dam of Badger’s Drift) by Keefah, this is a super damline of the likes of Secret Hoard, Dancin’ In The Rain, On The Tiles and sire Blushing Groom.

Lot 116 is a daughter of King Of Kings out of Al Noor by Fine Edge from Yellow Star. This is the damline of Summerhill’s new sire Traffic Guard, Chief Advocate and sires Erins Isle and Erins Hope.
