Peter and Jenny Blyth of Clifton Stud are thrilled to report the Zimbabwean Triple Tiara win by Casey’s Dance, a daughter of Mullins Bay out of Viennese Waltz by National Assembly.

KZN-breds have had success with the Zimbabwean Triple crown before – a recent previous winner being Madigan.

The three year old filly took victory in the 2000m Zimbabwe Oaks at Borrowdale Park on Sunday. She had previously won the 1600m Fillies Classic and the 1800m TBA Silver Slipper and came through the field with a brilliant burst of speed, where it counted, to take the Oaks honours.

Casey’s Dance is from the Harris Racing yard and owned by the Sunmark Syndicate. Quinton Riddle was in the saddle and was in fine form on Sunday clocking up four wins during the course of the afternoon.

Dam Viennese Waltz has produced two winners, and the half-sister to Fov’s Dancer and Gr3 winner Bamboogie. This is also the immediate family of Gr1 winners (and Durban July winner) Jamaican Music and Gr1 Tsogo Sun Medallion winner Potent Power.

Casey’s Dance has had four wins in total and placed four times – having never been out of the placings once. Casey’s Dance sold at the 2012 National Two Year Old Sale for just R40 000.

Keep a look out for Why Ask, a two year old filly by Clifton’s resident sire A.P. Answer, who sold at the 2013 National Yearling Sales.

Congratulations to Clifton Stud!
