Breeders Cup 2011 Final Results

Breeders Cup 2011 Final Results

The Breeder’s Cup ended with some fantastic results and history being made.

Jockey Mike Smith surpassed Jerry Bailey for the most Breeders’ Cup wins. Joseph and Aidan O’Brien are the only father-son pair in the 28 year history who have won a Breeders’ Cup race – with Aiden being the trainer and Joseph riding St Nicholas Abbey to victory in the $3 million Emirates Airline Breeders’ Cup Turf Grade 1 – and Joseph being the youngest jockey at 18 years of age to win a Breeder’s Cup race.

Sadly Golikova was not able to make it 4 times in a row as anticipated, running third to Court Vision in the TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile. Court Vision went off at 64-1 and won in a very tight finish.

Drosselmeyer won the Breeder’s Cup Classic Grade 1 by 1.5 lengths from Game On Dude. Drosselmeyer is by Distorted Humor(USA) out of Golden Ballet by Moscow Ballet(USA) with the dam-line out of a Slew O Gold / Storm Bird.
