Backworth-bred Colour Of Courage (Judpot – Exclusive Honour) scored a tenacious first win, first time out in the first at Greyville Friday evening for the experienced training duo of Mike and Rae Miller under jockey Sean Veale.

Varsfontein owner Susan Rowett Kalmanson (Chairperson of the TBA), and Carl and Amanda de Vos must be excited about their new young stallion JUDPOT who seems to be producing the goods. He has perfect bloodlines being a half-brother to Sire of Sire’s Kingmambo and is by multiple Champion Sire and leading Sire of Sires A.P. Indy and is out of multiple Champion racemare, Miesque. Miesque recorded a total of 10 Grade 1 wins in her racing career including an uprecidented Breeder’s Cup Mile win by a decisive margin. The french-trained daughter of Nureyev earned a Timeform rating of 133 and was elected into the USA Hall of Fame.

Colour Of Courage is a Backworth graduate of the 2012 KZN Yearling Sale and our gut tells us this colt is one to watch.

As a yearling who graduated from the 2012 KZN Yearling Sale, Colour Of Courage is eligible to race in the KZN Breeders R1-million race to be run on Vodacom Durban July day – a race exclusively for two year old graduates of this sale.

Congratulations to winning owners Baroness Bergsma of Longford, Michel Nairac (Gold Circle CEO) and Robert Maingard.
