Backworth Stud: 2013 National Yearling Sale Inspection

Backworth Stud: 2013 National Yearling Sale Inspection

Backworth Stud enjoyed John Kramer and Kerry Jack’s visit to inspect our yearlings nominated for the 2013 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, and are pleased to share that despite bad weather, our ‘nominated yearlings’ were well received. The horses did themselves proud averaging a score of 8.5 with a few 9 toppers.

There is a good stallion mix in the draft, with Western Winter, Silvano, Trippi, Kahal, Muhtafal and Miesque’s Approval stamping their mark.

There are always a few that take one’s eye, and in particular is the big rangey grey Silvano filly ‘Aquinata’ out of Tsunami who really has a commanding presence. The Western Winter filly ‘Cold Fact’ is a strong workmanlike specimen, whilst the Miesque’s Approval colt ‘Humidor’ out of Lewinsky’s Lover is very impressive showing plenty quality.

We are some months off the sales, and preparation is just beginning, so we look forward to sharing their development over the next few months.
