Rocky Street(AUS) x Lincoln Echo by Fort Wood(USA)

Rocky Street(AUS) first foals have arrived at Middlefield Stud, and they are lovely big individuals with even bigger pedigrees.

Rocky Street is by Rock Of Gibraltar who currently stands at Coolmore Stud in Ireland. He is a son of Danehill out of a Be My Guest mare. Rock Of Gibraltar set the track alight with 10 wins – and he became the first horse ever to win 7 consecutive Grade 1’s in the Northern Hemisphere breaking the great Mill Reef’s 30-year-old record. His include Gr1 2000 Guineas, Gr1 Irish 2000 Guineas,Gr1 St James Palace Stakes, Gr1 Sussex Stakes, Gr1 Prix du Moulin, Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes; and a second in the Gr1 Breeder’s Cup Mile. He was given a Time Form Rating of 133, and has gone onto sire a number of Grade 1 winners and become a Sire-Of-Sires himself.

From his first 4 crops on the track he is already the sire of 39 Northern Hemisphere SW’s including Grade 1 winners Society Rock, Mount Nelson, Diamondrella, Varenar and Eagle Mountain, Grade 2 winners Kitty Matcham and Gibraltar Blue and Grade 3 winners Samitar, Yellowstone, Genuine Devotion, Sweeter Still, Rock of Rochelle, Theann, Utrecht, Unilateral and High Rock.

Rocky Street is 15.3hh, a well-balanced and nicely topped bay with a very good temperament. It was a great disappointment that Rocky Street’s racing career was hampered from day one with a latent defect which only came to light on the race track and finally resulted in surgery. He ran 3 places from 5 starts in South Africa, with his first race he was narrowly defeated by a length.
