This rather ‘somber looking’, unusual-colored colt foal by Var, out of maiden mare Clematis, was not enjoying his first day in head collar!

He has no reason to be somber though! Clematis by Silvano out of Upwardly Mobile by Hard Up(ARG), had 3 wins at 3 to 5 over 1400m to 2000m and placed 3 times including a cracking second in the Off To Stud Handicap (L).

Her dam, Upwardly Mobile, had 3 wins and 11 places including a 3rd in the Diamond Stakes (L).

She is the dam of Badger’s Gift, by Badger Land, who recorded eight wins including the TBA Paddock Stakes (Gr1) and the Diana Stakes (Gr3), and 16 places including second in the Odessa Stud Fillies Championship (Gr2) and the Victress Stakes (L) and third in the Tibouchina Stakes (Gr2), the Prix Du Cap (Gr3) and the Riverworld Stud Prix Du Cap (Gr3).
