Foals From Hadlow Stud

Jam Alley(AUS) - Painter's Dream(IRE) by Sadler's Wells(IRE) In this foal feature, we focus on Hadlow Stud which is owned by Cathy and Jonathan Martin and integrates St John Gray’s Graystone Stud into their establishment, standing the likes of Emperor’s Dance – the dam of Grade 1 Sansui Summer Cup winner and 2011 KZN Breeders Award winning Horse-Of-The-Year Dancewiththedevil – who recently foaled a Jam Alley colt – as well as Apple Princess a nominee at the recent KZN Breeders Awards for Outstanding Older Female and Outstanding Sprinter Female.

Cathy Martin, co-owner of Hadlow says “Our season has gone well and we are very happy with the quality of foals produced. St John Gray visited the farm just before New Year and was extremely happy with the Graystone foals as a whole. In particular he commented on the quality and depth of girth of the Jam Alley foals. He is certainly upgrading most of his mares. Of the Jam Alley offspring in training St John says that while he is not yet ready to shout it from the rooftops they are showing very good work at home and obviousy on the track, the few that have run.”

The first foal we look at is beautifully bred and equally good-looking with striking markings. The result of this mating of Painter’s Dream to Jam Alley seems to be an exciting and appropriate one.
