National Yearling Sale inspectors Kerry Jack and Paddy Kruger have arrived in KZN this morning, on the last leg of their Bloodstock South Africa national inspection tour to score and inspect yearlings for the National Yearling Sale, taking place this year on 3, 4, and 5 May at the TBA Complex in Johannesburg.
Rathmor-bred Romany Prince continued the good family name of his dam with an easy win the Gr3 London News Stakes. The son of Kahal and a half- sibling to several top horses including American and South African Gr1 winner, Gypsy’s Warning, also gave Ormond Ferraris his 2500th win in 2016 when he took home the Drum Star Listed.
Bush Hill Stud’s Curved Ball produced his sixth winner this afternoon at the Vaal for breeders Cathy and Jonathan Martin of Hadlow Stud – who also bred the first ever winner by Curved Ball, a juvenile filly in the previous season named Fast And Rocking.
The annual Bush Hill Stallion Day took place on the Friday prior to the Gold Cup race day, and once again it was a magnificent day with over 200 guests present and it was fantastic to have so many visitors from the Cape especially – including Susan Rowett, Mike De Kock, Jehan Malherbe and Jessica Slack.
