The Apache Returns Home To Stud At Scott Bros

Scott Bros’ multiple Gr1 winner both locally and internationally, has returned to his place of birth to continue his career at stud.
The outstanding racing son of Mogok was the pride of South Africa when he crossed the line first in the Gr1 Arlington Million in the USA for trainer Mike De Kock, only to have the race result changed after interference.
The Apache is a culmination of the Scott Bros’ dynasty of stallions and mares carefully mated, and he has certainly reflected his breeders and his champion lineage with his outstanding achievements.

Bush Hill Stud’s magnificent son of Fastnet Rock, the only son of the great Australian sire in South Africa, is off the mark with his first winner at the Vaal bred by Cathy and Jonathan Martin’s Hadlow Stud. Fast And Rocking, a two year old filly out of an Australian Archway mare, Terrestrial Rose, won second time out for trainer Mr D Little in a juvenile plate over 1200m.

KZN-bred Alareef, impeccably bred by Shadwell Stud, opened his winning account at Meydan for trainer Mike De Kock and his owner Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum. Alareef’s dam Modraj(GB) by Machiavellian stands at Spring Valley Stud on behalf of her owner Shadwell Stud, and saw her Just As Well colt sold to Team G Racing from the 2015 National Yearling Sale.

A happy chord of nostalgia was struck Saturday night when Serene Melody ended her racing career with a perfect-trip victory in the $50,000 Wintergreen Stakes at Turfway Park in northern Kentucky. Serene Melody was produced by the Hall of Fame mare Serena’s Song, the third dam of Noble Tune and Honor Code.
