Brigtnumberten gave his sire Eightfold Path his first winner comfortably this afternoon at Turffontein over 1000m under Gavin Lerena for trainer Roy Magner. Eightfold Path, a French Gr3 and Listed winner by Giant’s Causeway is impeccably-bred out of the 5-time Gr1 winner Divine Proportions, stands at Scott Bros’ Highdown Stud.

The Galileo juvenile half-brother to Scott Bros’ French Gr3 winner Eightfold Path, named Diodorus, ran a vastly improved race yesterday over the Leopardstown 1800m trip with blinkers on for the first time, to run on strongly and finish second behind Godolphin’s Dubai Sand.
Three of KZN’s young sires have their juvenile siblings making starts in Group races in the upcoming months – among them Crusade, Eightfold Path and Flying The Flag. Interestingly, all three siblings are by super-sire Galileo, all in training with Aiden O’ Brien and all owned in partnership by Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor & Derrick Smith.
The first crops from Scott Bros’ respective stallions’ Crusade and Eightfold Path were well received at the recent National Yearling Sale, whilst Irish Flame and Await The Dawn sold one individual each for over R100 000.
