Two new Directors have been elected to the current Board, and the KZN Breeders Club would like to welcome Cathy Martin of Hadlow Stud and Mick Goss from Summerhill Stud.

Summerhill-bred Visionaire filly Takingthepeace has once again stamped KZN Breeders in Gauteng, with a dominating run in the Gr2 Wilgerbosdrift Gauteng Fillies Guineas (the first leg of the Triple Tiara), a race previously won by the likes of Heaps Of Fun (a Summerhill-bred daughter of Visionaire).
A respected business lady in Johannesburg who also owns a farm in the beautiful Birnamwood area outside of Howick, Ms Mlonzi made the news when she sold her Master Of My Fate filly, Master Keys, at the National Yearling Sale in 2017 for R100 000 to Nathan Kotzen, becoming the first black lady to do so in the history of the National Yearling Sale. Master Keys won impressively on debut yesterday at Scottsville.

Next month’s Parade Magazine will feature the story of both Bruce Le Roux and Tinus Gericke, who have purchased amongst the winning fillies A Woman’s Way, Marsala, Hashtagyolo, Love Theme and originally, the great Green Pepper!
Exciting Piemonte Stud-bred prospect, Carlita, is at the top of the Log of the KZN Breeders Series for Juveniles with 14 points. The full sister to 4-time winner and Gr3 placed Mogok’s Desire, Royal Agree heads up the first KZN Breeders Series Log for 2018 for 3yo’s and up. Trained by Glen Kotzen, the four year old filly is ahead with 22 points under her belt.
Pat and Lloyd Lunn are having a golden run at the moment from a small stable, and with another double yesterday at Scottsville, their KZN-bred juvenile filly impressed with a very fast win leading from start to finish over the 1000m.
Summerhill Stud bred the winner Champagne Haze, and his champion half-brother Pierre Jourdan and Belle Rose, and also claimed a terrific feat by producing the top three in this Gr3 cracker, with Greasepaint and Pure Blonde respectively.
