KZN Mixed Sale

The Yellow Star Mixed sale of fillies, broodmares, weanlings and horses-in-training will be hosted at Yellow Star Stud on Tuesday 5 July, 2011.

Some of the mares and fillies available include Lot 3, Catsastar from Scott Bros acting as Agent. She is from the family of Zirconeum and Stellite, and she is currently in foal to Ravishing.

Yellow Star currently have a few special horses for sale. They are acting as agents on behalf of Midlands Thoroughbreds for Lot 10 Dame Barnikel. The mare herself is a winner, and her fourth dam is no other then London Wall, dam of Horse Chestnut. Dame Barnikel is currently in foal to their resident stallion Second Empire and her dam sire is Fort Wood. Her foal due will be inbred to Sadler’s Wells.

Yellow Star are also acting as agent for Midlands Thoroughbreds on Lot 116 Goldie’s Charm, a filly by National Emblem. Her dam, Goldie’s Song has had 7 runners and 7 winners. Her second dam is Enchanting, the dam of Harry’s Charm.

Hadlow Stud are offering some of the following mares for sale, Lot 11 Dance Tattoo – she is a half-sister to the dam of Dancewiththedevil, currently in foal to Jam Alley and Lot 20 Finest View – she has had 4 wins including SA Fillies Guineas, and the dam of 4 winners. She is a half-sister to Argonaut and Simply Salmon, and is currently in foal to Sarge.

Invermooi Stud are offering two half-sisters for sale to Jet Master – the first is Lot 22 Flame of Fury – a half-sister to Jet Master by All Fired Up, in foal to Slew The Red. She is currently the dam of 2 winners to date. Lot 110 Break The Branch, by Fort Wood and also a half-sister to Jet Master. She is in foal to Slew The Red, and is the dam of 4 runners and 2 winners.

Kievan Stud have a few for sale, one being Lot 28 – Hello Dolly, the dam of the late Goat. She is in foal to Kahal and the dam of 3 winners including Goat, Another Goat and Satchmo’s Girl. Lot 41, also from Keivan Stud, is Lily Lake by Joshua Dancer, currently in foal to Black Minnaloushe. She is a half-sister to Day Lily Delight, Bilboa and from the family of Ravishing, Red Badge , Geordoba and Villandry (who interestingly enough appears in this catalogue himself).

Rathmor Stud have Lot 35 Jumeirah Beach on offer, she is regally bred by Jallad out of Teclafields. She is an own sister to Zebra Crossing and half-sister to Circle Of life and African Lion and currently in foal to Mambo In Seattle. She is the dam of 2 winners.

Summerhill Stud has Lot 48 Mhlonishwa, her dam is a half-sister to Angus and currently in foal to Mullins Bay. They also have lot 101 Angel’s Dream by Labeeb and in foal to Muhtafal, and she comes from the dam line of Tuscan Elegance. Her third dam Abella is the dam of 6 winners, including stallions Thatching, Golden Thatch, and Waterville Lake.

Lot 109 is Blushing Summer, currently in foal to sire sensation Trippi. She is the dam of 8 runners and 6 winners, including Brock, Majestic Sun and Sun City, and is related to Persian Summer, Majestic Crown, Ships Gossip and Senor Santa.

Clifton Stud have Lot 88 – The Daydream, herself a 4 time winner, by West Man out of Lady Blakeney. Her dam is a half-sister to Dynasty and Sequoia. She is currently in foal to Kahal.

Avalon Stud are acting as Agent for Lot 75 – Some Like It Hot by Al Mufti out of Fort Wood mare. She is in foal to King of Kings and is herself a winner. Her family goes back to Bushmanland, Royal Chalice, Rudra and Set Afire.

Finally, an interesting horse who will attract some attention at the sale is the last, Lot 196 Villandry, winner of the Gold Reef Resorts Medallion Gr 1, who certainly shouldn’t need an introduction. He comes from an exceptional dam line which includes the family of Day Lily Delight, Ravishing, Red Badge, and Royal Messenger.
