Greenhill Farm (13 December, 2012)

A visit to Greenhill Farm in Lidgetton, owned by Stuart and Lola Crawford and assisted by their daughters Taryn and Haley, reveals a beautiful farm where the horses needs always come first. Not only do Stuart and Lola breed and raise Gr 1 winning horses, they also grow South Africa's national flower - the King Protea on a commercial basis. Both Stuart and Lola Crawford's daughters were born and raised at Greenhill and they have inherited their parent's passion and enthusiasm for Thoroughbred breeding and racing, and compete in Showing and Showjumping.






Roski Stud (14 September, 2012)

A passionate breeder with a love and enthusiasm for horses, carried on by his daughter Juli who manages the farm, Greg says: "I have already planned my pedigrees and booked my matings for next year!" Juli - or Soss as most people know her - has inherited her parents' love of farming and horses and it is evident in how confident and friendly their young stock are when Juli enters the paddocks. Whilst Greg handles the farming operation, his wife Shelley manages their other business, The Oasis BP Garage located between Hammarsdale and Cato Ridge.






Bush Hill Stud (9 November, 2011)

Bush Hill Stud is owned and managed by Warwick and Karin Render and has been a successful commercial operation for over thirty years, the last thirteen under the Renders' management, who between them, boast in excess of forty years of experience in the horse breeding industry in South Africa. Bush Hill is very conveniently situated with easy access to all stallions standing in KZN and offers a full range of services for the discerning owner from the boarding of mares (permanent and seasonal), foaling, weanlings, yearlings/two year old board and sales preparation, as well as stallion board and management.






Yellow Star Stud (4 October, 2011)

Yellow Star Stud is a rambling farm making its way down the Middelrus Road just outside of Mooi River in the heart of the Natal Midlands. The adjourning farms of Clovelly, Moyeni, Golden Acres and Warley Common together make up 1200 hectares of natural sweet veld. There are well established pastures, with access down tree-lined avenues to beautifully fenced paddocks. Koos and Lorraine de Klerk run the farm as a family business.






Rathmor Stud (2 September, 2011)

Rathmor Stud was purchased in June 1998 from Dr Allan King, and it was known previously as Kingswood Stud. The farm is situated near Nottingham Road and it is a family owned business, managed by Michael and Tanya McHardy, and assisted by Michael's parents, Bernard and Wendy McHardy.






Spring Valley Stud (4 August, 2011)

Spring Valley Stud has been going for 12 years under the Le Roux family. The farm has a rich history, it was Basil Cooper's farm prior, and he used to train his racehorses from there which included the Gold Cup Grade 2 winner The Master. It was then sold onto Sir Iwanowski in order to breed the beautiful Lippizaners that perform in Kyalami.
