| Share |
The maternal grandson of KZN resident stallion Spectrum (who moved to Yellow Star Stud this season from Highlands Farm in the Cape) - Dutch Art - is currently the leading first crop sire in the UK with stakes won, to date under 400,000 for this year.
As a racehorse Dutch Art won the Grade 1 Middle Park Stakes and the Prix Morny as a 2 year old.
He stands at Cheveley Stud with his sire Medicean, who interestingly enough is the sire of Bankable(IRE), the new first season sire at Summerhill Stud.
He has been represented by 23 individual winners in the UK alone this season.
His first crop of 2yos include the G2 Mill Reef Stakes winner Caspar Netscher as well as the stakes winning filly Miss Work Of Art.
Spectrum, by Rainbow Quest - River Dancer by Irish River, is a four time winner including the Irish 2000 Guineas 1600m GR1 and the Champion Stakes 2000m GR1, from 1600 - 2000m and he was given a Time Form rating of 126 at the age of 3.
