King Of Kings(IRE) Leading Two Year Old Sire In South Africa By Stakes Earned
| Share |
KZN Breeders have shown their worth with King Of Kings(IRE), currently standing at Clifton Stud, the leading South African Sire of Two-Year Olds by Stakes earned as of the 17 January 2012, according to the NHRA stats.
His Two Year olds have earned R134 630 this season. Second behind him is Dupont, followed by Black Minnaloushe, Oratorio and Var, with now deceased Champion sire Jet Master lying just eighth.
It is interesting to note, taking into account the exchange rate for Oratorio currently standing at Coolmore Australia, that the average stud fee between the four stallions behind King Of Kings (winner of the exclusive Gr 1 2000 Guineas in England) combined service fees average approximately R56 250 per stallion compared to King Of Kings' service fee of R20 000. The big handsome bay stallion is proving to be excellent value for money and is starting to produce the goods.
King Of Kings, a tough racing son of multiple Champion Sire-Of-Sires, Sadler's Wells, has already proved himself overseas with multiple Graded/Group Stakes winners in Ireland, America and Australia. He is also the Sire-Of-Sire King's Chapel, an exciting new addition to Bush Hill Stud who stood his first season in 2011 and has himself proved successful with his winning progeny in New Zealand.
"I'm very excited about this statistic, chuffed to hear it, although it is still very early days in the seaso. Please may he continue with this successful start" said Peter Blyth of Clifton Stud. "Amongst his top performers are Kings Entourage who has won 5 races and Indigo Princess with 3 wins as well as a Grade 2 place. Some Black-Type winners under the belt and then he will certainly be on his bike. Very exciting".
The statistics for Leading Sire in KZN as of 17 January show Summerhill's Kahal to be leading by total Stakes earned, a current total of R1 078 900. He is followed by Jet Master, Captain Al, Strike Smartly (now deceased) and Dynasty. Once again, Kahal's stud fee of R45 000 compared to the combined average stud fee of the stallions behind him come to an average of R95 000 each; it certainly makes you sit up and think.
The leading Broodmare Sire in KZN is none other then the great stallion who made his name at Summerhill Stud, Northern Guest, again by Stakes earned which totalled R1 504 350. His grandchildren have earned almost R500 000 more then the second stallion following him, being Jallad, followed by Fort Wood, Al Mufti and Model Man.
Yet another KZN-Bred, Sansui Summer Cup Grade 1 winner bred by Graystone Stud - Dancewiththedevil - leads the the National log, again as of the 17 January 2012, with stakes earned of R1 233 000 just this season. Her total stakes earned is in excess of R3 200 000.
Proof yet again that investing and buying into KZN-bred horses pays off, as well as being the only Breeding Association in the country to financially reward breeders and owners of horses bred in KZN. For more information about the KZN Breeders Premium Scheme contact us here.
