KZN-Bred Belle Rose In Dubai For Carnival
The well related 3-time winner Belle Rose has landed in Dubai for the upcoming Dubai Carnival as part of the Mike De Kock team. By Golden Sword, she is out of star broodmare Vin Fizz – the dam of Pierre Jourdan and Champagne Haze. Merit rated 97, Belle Rose is owned by Al Adiyaat South Africa.
Mike De Kock labelled the Summerhill sire Golden Sword, the best horse of a classy generation in his overseas string. Golden Sword still holds the record for the fastest 2000m at Meydan and made the news when his full brother, Rekindling, won “the race the stops the nation” Gr1 Melbourne Cup a few months ago.
A winner of the Oaks Trial over 2000m which put her in contention this year for KZN Breeders Outstanding Middle Distance Female, Belle Rose has also placed three times in good company. She ran fourth, less than a length off the winner of the Gr1 SA Fillies Classic under Anton Marcus in April this year.
Not only was Belle Rose the first winner for her sire, but she was also part of a feat that when she won the Oaks Trial, her half-brother Champagne Haze won the Gr2 Senor Santa on the same day at Turffontein.
Belle Rose was purchased by Form Bloodstock for R475 000 at the 2015 CTS Johannesburg Ready To Run Sale. In addition to her multiple Graded Stakes winning siblings, the other is 7-time winner Dakiwe.
Vin Fizz is now a resident broodmare at Bush Hill Stud, in foal to the very exciting stallion prospect Flying The Flag – himself a Group Winning full brother to Gr1 winner Rhododendron and Gr2 winner, Magical.
KZN success in Dubai has been significant, with the likes of The Apache, Imbongi, Wolf Whistle and Dubai World Cup-placed Paris Perfect representing amongst others.
