A R150 000 purchase off the 2016 National Yearling Sale, a steal for a handsome brother to Gr1 winner Orbison, The Bayou impressed his connections to collect his second win in a bravely contested race to fight off Belinda Impey’s Amor Ardiente, whilst the highly-thought-of Thanksgiving finished third.

After crossing the line first in an impressive Barrier Trial run, The Bayou’s first race start at Scottsville saw him get left behind at the gates, and he ran courageously to fly up for third place. Its no surprise therefore that he started as favourite at Greyville over 1400m and flew home comfortably by over two lengths.
