Wishful Girl Linn made it six wins for her owner Mr Ebrahim at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.

The daughter of Linngari bred by Summerhill Stud from the family of It’s My Turn has won over distances of 1200m – 1600m. She is out of a Western Winter / Jungle Cove 5-time winning mare who also won the Listed Scarlet Lady Handicap.

She sold for just R65 000 at the BSA Johannesburg Mixed Sale in 2018.

Linngari, who stands at Mike and Tanya McHardy’s Rathmor Stud in the KZN Midlands and owned by Rupert Plersch, boasts a winners to runners percentage of 36.4%.

From just 33 runners he has had 16 wins.

Well done to all concerned.

Noble Tune was very well supported in his first few seasons at stud with full books each year, and the stats show that he has only had 34 of his progeny on the tracks to date and 11 of them are winners, giving Noble Tune a lifetime winners to runners percentage of 32%.

Rathmor have had a good year at the sales and on the racetracks, and our current stats according to www.nhra.co.za show that our winners to runners percentage is currently 34.8%, which puts us above some of the leading stud farms in the country.

We have had 9 wins for the season and 22 places, earning nearly R800 000 in stakes. Noble Tune has produced 8 winners for the season so far, with a decent stakes of R682 000 for the connections of his progeny.

Noble Tune was very well supported in his first few seasons at stud with full books each year, and the stats show that he has only had 34 of his progeny on the tracks to date and 11 of them are winners, giving Noble Tune a lifetime winners to runners percentage of 32%.

Paths Of Victory is now a 2-time winner, whilst White Lightning, injured in the Gr2 Dingaans after being cut into, is Stakes Placed and Play Another Tune placed 4th in a Gr1 during Champions Season.

Image: Candiese Marnewick

The best from Noble Tune have yet to see a racetrack and we are very keen to watch their progress and encouraged on reports from leading trainers who have them in their yards – there is going to be much more to come from this young stallion in the future.

Linngari continues to produce the results, with his overseas stats reflecting in his local runners – currently Linngari boasts a South African winners to runners percentage of 66.7% – from just three of his first local runners, 2 have won and five places achieved between them – with average earnings per runner at an excellent R55 000.

Since 1 December, Linngari has had two winners and 7 places, four of those in second place!

His latest Stakes result came from Love And Peace (FR), who finished second in the Prix Petite Etoile Listed at Deauville over 1900m.

We have a very exciting line-up for the National in 2019, including progeny of Noble Tune (and a half-brother to Gr1 winner Lady In Black), Dynasty and Frankel amongst others from some of South Africa’s leading broodmare prospects. Inspections will be taking place in early January.

Garlingari is a true group horse and his track record speaks for himself, reports paris-turf.com. On Saturday, he made his comeback and gave a minimum of four kilos to his opponents. It was a return run after a tough stint in Sha Tin. “In Sha Tin, it’s quite simple, there are twelve starters, twelve horses of Group 1, explains Stéphane Pasquier, his jockey. When, for us, it’s the end of the season, for them, it’s the beginning. That’s what makes the difference.”

Garlingari is a Gr2 and Gr3 winner.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-medium wp-image-3887" src="https://kznbreeders.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/linngari-summerhill-300x209.jpg" alt="Linngari has three yearlings on offer at Nationals.
Fast behind the leader Royal Dolois in the Cagnes-sur-Mer Grand Prix du Departement Listed, Garlingari goes on the offensive mid-straight and easily wins in front of Parviz and Royal Dolois.

Stéphane Pasquier looks back on the success of his partner: “An expected victory, yes of course. In pure class, it’s logical, but Saturday, he made a comeback and gave weight to all his opponents. Racing is not an exact science. Horses are sometimes good on Mondays and less well on Tuesdays … He deserved such a victory after showing great potential in Group races. When we are better than others, it’s always easier.”

Garlingari, unless he travels to Dubai, his program could consist of the Exbury, Harcourt and Ganay Prizes.

At the CTS April Yearling Sale, Linngari is represented by 2 Lots – a filly from Heversham Park Farm out of Pakmax as Lot 325, from the damline of Harry Hotspur, as well Hemel ‘n Arde with Lot 133 – from the immediate family of Icy Air, Icy Trail and Ice Axe.

Linngari will be represented at the BSA Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale by three lots, including a half-brother to Catherineofaragorn Lot 227 (out of a full sister to Gr1 winner Legality), a half-brother to Costa Del Sol (4 wins) and Black Pepper (9 wins) from Scott Bros as Lot 383, and a second produce out of a French mare from Summerhill as Lot 482, the family of Stormy Victoria and Flashdance.

Linngari stands at Summerhill Stud.

Garlingari produced another victory in the Qatar Prix Dollar Gr2 over 2000m for Madame Corine Barande Barbe, a race that contributed towards the fame of the great Cirrus Des Aigles.

Garlingari likes to race with a challenge, and with with Robin Of Navan on the rails and Kourkan on the outside, it was enough for Garlingari to surge away powerfully and take the lead.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-large wp-image-349" src="https://kznbreeders.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Linngari-1024x682.jpg" alt="Linngari.
Garlingari is a son of Summerhill-based globetrotting racehorse and sire Linngari, now a 9-time winner, with two Gr3’s and Gr2’s respectively under his belt.

The stunning chestnut athletic son of Indian Ridge produces over 60% winners to runners from his lifetime statistics and stands for a reduced fee of R12 000 this season – a reduction implemented by Summerhill to assist breeders in this tough current economic climate.

The bay son of Linngari and a previous Gr2 winner and Gr1 placed, Garlingari walked away with the Gr3 La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte on the weekend over 2000m in France.

Well off and leading the peloton, Garlingari showed his grit to the end to fend off an attack from Fastnet Rock colt One Foot in Heaven. His trainer Corine Barande-Barbe spoke of Garlingari’s win, saying he was very happy with the result and the tactics used as the horse needs to have another to challenge in order to win.

Garlingari has now won seventh times from 2000m – 2400m, earning €527,780 in stakes. His other wins include the Gr2 Chantilly Prix d’Harcourt, Gr3 Saint-Cloud Prix Exbury and two other Listed races.

Linngari has shuttled extensively and produces winners daily world wide. New Zealand based international stats website arion.co.nz show the chestnut son of Indian Ridge to have produced a lifetime winners to runners percentage of an impressive 60%, the sire of 267 progeny to race with 161 winners and earnings of over $5.3 million.

Summerhill stand Linngari for a reduced fee of R12 000 this season, to accommodate breeders in these tough current economic times. He previously stood for R20 000, producing sizeable foals with outstanding quality.

His other Bold Black Types include Gr2 Dubai placed Mr Pommeroy, Comical, Ta Maluca and Olhar De Birigui.

Our current National Champion Breeders Summerhill Stud have foaled down the first crop of foals by triple Gr1 winner Capetown Noir, and the first South African crop from international multiple Group winner Linngari.

Capetown Noir is by Western Winter out of Akinfeet by Fort Wood has a close link to Summerhill pedigree wise, with his grand dam, Guineas winner Dance Every Dance by Northern Guest – herself the grandchild of Champion sire Jungle Cove.

After winning his debut by two lengths, Anton Marcus hailed Capetown Noir as the best juvenile he had sat on that season.

A R1-million yearling with a career that spanned over three years, the big dark bay colt with the unusual white blaze down his face annhilated the likes of Run For It, Sanshaawes, Love Struck and King Of Pain, Yorker and Jackson. Capetown Noir won the Gr1 Cape Premier Guineas, the Gr1 Investec Derby, the Gr3 Byerley Turk, Gr3 Matchem Stakes and Gr1 LÓrmarins Queens Plate.

Linngari, a son of Indian Ridge out of Lidakiya by Kahyasi and in turn out of a Doyoun mare, is an asset to KZN with his blue blooded pedigree and impressive globe trotting Group winning race record, something he has passed down to the likes of his progeny such as Mr Pommeroy and French Stakes winner Garlingari.

From ages five to six Linngari was rated 124, and earned Black Type in eight countries with 11 wins, only out of the money from four of his 29 starts. He captured two Gr1’s in the process and three Gr2’s, including finishing third in the Gr1 English Champion Stakes behind New Approach.

Linngari ranked second only to the brilliant Le Havre among French sires of Three-Year-Olds in 2014 and has produced five Stakes winners and Six Stakes horses already, as well as numbers of 4,5,6 and 8-time winners.

With 180 foals born last season at KZN’s flagship farm, seen amongst them is a magnificent Trippi foal out of grey mare Jordie by Fard – the dam of dual Gr1 winner Rabada.

See below a few of the progeny from Capetown Noir and Linngari.

KZN Sires Redoute’s Promise, Noble Tune and Linngari all had news to come out of the recent Arqana December Mixed Bloodstock sale held at Deauville, with Noble Tune’s family topping the sale overall and Redoute’s Choice, the sire of Bush Hill’s Redoute’s Promise, providing a session topper with a weanling filly and a number of mares sold in foal to Linngari, including a maiden for €50 000.

Redoute’s Choice weanling filly out of a half sister to the dam of unbeaten European Horse of the Year Zarkava was the top seller on Day 2 of the Arqana December breeding stock sale, going for €160,000.

Bloodstock agent John McCormack signed for the bay filly from an outstanding Aga Khan family. Born April 25, she was offered by Hubert Honore’s Haras d’Ommeel.

The filly’s dam is the Namid mare Zamid, who from four foals has one starter to date, the 3-year-old Lawman filly Acquittal, who is twice placed in Great Britain.

Zamid has a 2-year-old Zamindar colt in training and a yearling Elusive City colt. The mare is a half sister to a pair of stakes winners, including French Gr3 winner Zarkiya, and to the unraced mare Zarkasha, dam of 2008 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and French Oaks (Gr1) winner Zarkava.

“She is a real athlete,” McCormack said of the session-topping filly. “I have bought her for an existing client who already has horses in training in France and she will be kept to race. Redoute’s Choice has been so successful in Australia and I hope that he can do as well over here (in Europe). The dam side also offers some solid guarantees.”

A maiden mare named Picayune – sold as Lot 723 went for €50 000 to Kern Lillingston Bloodstock in foal to Linngari, Summerhill’s new stallion acquisition who has covered his first South African season.

The German bred Black Type daughter of Manduro (Monsun) out of Panagia by Diesis is a half-sister to five European winners, and hails from the immediate damline of Thatch, Sadler’s Wells and Tate Gallery.

The U.S. and European breeding operations of American billionaire John Malone dominated the top of the market on opening day of the Arqana December breeding stock sale in Deauville.

Malone’s Bridlewood Farm in Florida spent €900,000, the day and sales top price, for 4-year-old Embellishment, an unraced Galileo—Sophisticat mare in foal to 2014 European Horse of the Year Kingman.

Sophisticat is one of 10 winners from Serena’s Song, including Gr2 winners Harlington and Grand Reward, Gr3 winner Schramsberg, and Serena’s Tune, her first foal who was a multiple stakes winner and the second dam of Noble Tune and Honor Code.

Presented by Haras d’Etreham, Embellishment is a daughter of 2002 Coronation Stakes (Gr1) victress Sophisticat, a French classic-placed daughter of U.S. champion 3-year-old filly and Hall of Famer Serena’s Song.

Embellishment is a half sister to French stakes winner and stakes producer Sefroua (Kingmambo) and English Gr1-placed Pursuit of Glory (Fusaichi Pegasus).

“She is for Bridlewood Farm, Ballylinch’s sister farm in Florida, which developed this whole family,” O’Connor said. “The Kingman cover is a nice plus, but it is definitely the female line that appealed to us. John Malone is extremely keen on this family, he already bought a very nice Tapit to get back into it. The Kingman foal will probably come back to Europe and may be sold.”
