Just Cruised In took his first stakes success when winning the R250 000 Gr3 Caradoc Gold Cup over the marathon 2850m at Turffontein on the weekend. Just Cruised In was born and raised at Spring Valley Stud for his breeder, Shadwell Stud.
With currently only 40 racehorses on the track in total and in his oldest crop being four year olds (only 16 registered horses in his first year), Just As Well has maintained incredible winners to runners percentages since his juveniles hit the tracks two years ago – for most of last year at over 40%.
Spring Valley sire Just As Well has only 40 runners in total on the tracks in South Africa, from juveniles to four year olds and December saw him achieve five winners and 10 places, taking his winners to runners percentage to an impressive 30%.
The family owned Roski Stud, a product of the passion of the late and great Greg Royden-Turner, had an epic weekend country wide as the boutique stud produced three wins and two places since Friday evening – from Greyville, Turffontein and Scottsville proving Greg’s theory of quality over quantity, when it comes to breeding Thoroughbreds.
KZN-breds had significant success at Turffontein yesterday, with sons of Admire Main, Just As Well and Toreador all winning on the big day.

Spring Valley’s resident sire Just As Well earned a double yesterday at the Vaal, with two year old colt Chilli Con Carne winning his second start after placing second previously, and Just Africa adding to the day to get his second career win.
