Two Yearlings Sell For Over A Million Dollars At Keeneland |
The Blood Horse reports that Benjamin Leon purchased an Unbridled’s Song filly from the Dromoland Farm consignment for $1.3 million, making her the first of two seven-figure purchases made on the 15 September session of the Keeneland September yearling sale.
The filly, produced from the Storm Bird mare Lady of Choice, is a half sister to multiple grade 3 winner Multiple Choice and to the stakes-placed mare Proposal, the dam of three stakes winners. The purchase price was unusual for the fifth session of the yearling auction, in which the top-priced offerings are usually sold during the first two days.
Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs went to $1.35 million Sept. 15 to buy an Awesome Again – Legs Lawlor colt from Greenwood Lodge Farm as the second seven-figure offering at the Keeneland September yearling sale’s fifth session.
The colt is out of the winning Unbridled mare Legs Lawlor, a daughter of stakes winner Evil Elaine and a half sister to Horse of the Year Favorite Trick.
Awesome Again, who stands at Adena Springs recovering from recent colic surgery.
